Dear Family & Friends:

I hope you all had a great summer. It’s hard to believe we are closing in on the fourth quarter of 2018. Where did the year go?

I previously reported on the cancellation of my 3,217 mile summer motorcycle tour with Ollie, in which we planned to visit some of our nation’s greatest national parks.  The trip had to be cancelled because of the fires raging in the Southwest. I hope to reschedule the trip in the Autumn.

Several motorcycle clubs planned to ride with us for portions of the trip. One of those clubs made a motorcycle vest for Ollie. My plan was to add patches to that vest from the seven national parks on our itinerary. You might be interested in the short video I prepared showing Ollie sporting the vest on a recent trip to Cook’s Corner, a popular motorcycle restaurant/bar hangout in Southern California.

In August, I took my son, Dan, and his son, Billy, on a climb of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. We had a great time. I have now taken all of my four children, one son-in-law, and 5 of my 14 grandchildren up this majestic mountain.

I wish all of you happiness and God’s blessings for the last quarter of 2018.
