Dear Family & Friends:

On June 27, Mingma went with a Sherpa family to visit Los Angeles and Hollywood. The highlight of the day was an 80-person brigade of naked bicyclists riding down Hollywood Blvd. Welcome to California Mingma!

By way of stark contrast, yesterday I took Mingma to church and then to San Diego for a visit to the USS Midway Museum. My granddaughter, Blake, and my son, Dan, went with us. What a fantastic day.

The USS Midway is an aircraft carrier that was Commissioned in September of 1945, and, for 10 years, was the largest warship in the world. It has 12 boilers, could reach a cruising speed of 30 knots (35-mph), carried over 80 aircraft and was home to a crew of over 4,500 sailors. It is a virtual city on the sea.

Midway sailed every ocean of the world during her 50-year operational history. She now serves as a floating museum in San Diego, a must-see attraction if you are ever visiting Southern California.

Today, I am taking Mingma to Palm Desert for 2-days where he can chill out in the 115-degree heat.
