Dear Family & Friends:
After spending 10-days at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Ollie is home with his family.
Ollie was put through another battery of tests related to his brain, heart, lungs and other internal organs. Everything came back normal. So, why the episodes?
The doctors believe that the episodes are caused by “shunting” which occurs when deoxygenated blood returning to the heart bypasses the lungs and does not pick up oxygen. Shunting can occur anywhere in the body which makes detection and treatment extremely difficult.
All of this was complicated by the fact Ollie did not have a single episode after the first couple of days in the hospital. His episodes stopped after a medicine he takes every day was increased in dosage at the hospital. We wondered if there is cause/effect from the increase in the dosage of the medicine. So, we decided to monitor Ollie closely at home, school and therapy.
Everything was fine until today when he had several episodes at school. So, now we are back to square one.
Upon behalf of Ollie and his entire family, including me, I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.
Here are a couple of photos of Ollie after his return home.

Bill, Thanks for the update. Have praying for Ollie and his family and will continue to do so. Thank you, too, for the positive effort in all of this. Ollie is so lucky to have such a papa. I’m sure your positive attitude has contributed greatly to Ollie’s ability to handle all of this. Thanks for the pics. Ollie seems to be growing up so fast.
Love to all of you, Sydney
