Bill:
You are a wonderful person. Two Bible verses come to mind:
– Commit they way unto the Lord; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5
– Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
Godspeed and may you have good weather on the mountain in April!
Rick
Love it!
I enjoy your post’s…..I will be following your climb this year….the best to you
Largely due to Bill’s and a man named Dawes Eddy’s 2009 Everest summit, I returned to mountaineering and stood on Denali’s summit in 2011 at age 59.
I salute you both.

Great post Bill. I agree that the mountains are great spiritual teachers. For me, one of the best lessons is “be present.” Be in the here, and now, and don’t try to think too far ahead of where you are, because where you are is perfect. If you get to the summit, fine, but in the meantime, you’re in a privileged, special environment that few people get to see and experience. Be there, drink it in, and be grateful for that experience.
