Dear Family & Friends:
My friends, Tom and Tina Sjogren, summited Mt. Everest together and then completed unsupported full degree treks to the North (590 miles) and South (702 miles) Poles. The North Pole trek is the most challenging because of the extreme weather and the fact you trek on floating ice which makes navigation and travel difficult and dangerous.
Here is a short video of Tom and Tina’s North Pole trip. I love their fierce determination and the lessons they learned from the Poles. This is why the Poles are so high on my list of future adventures.
I am proud of Tom and Tina for what they have accomplished in the world of extreme adventure. I am even more proud that they were recently naturalized as citizens of the United States of America. Congratulations Tom & Tina, and welcome to the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Bill
Bill, the adventures of Tom and Tina are like viewing the Banff Mountain Festival films. Their determination to persevere brings to mind an Albert Camus quote, “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.”
