Dear Family & Friends:
Happy 4th of July!
July 3rd was Disney Day for Mingma. We had a really fun day at Disneyland and California Adventure. The parks were crowded, but we enjoyed our trip anyway. We toured the parks and went on 4 rides–It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain and Soaring Over California. Mingma liked Soaring Over California the best. That is also my favorite ride.
After the trip to Disneyland, we went to Amy & Simon’s home in Newport Beach for a bbq steak dinner and a neighborhood party. The neighbors have established a wonderful tradition on July 3rd as the children assemble at the home of one of the neighbors and decorate their bicycles for the 4th of July bicycle parade the next morning. It was really fun showing Mingma how American families celebrate the birthday of our beloved country–the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Today starts with breakfast at the Giger home at 9 am, the bicycle parade at 10 am and fireworks in the evening.
