   Indeed good to hear your voice, Bill, strong and energetic. Could discern your disappointment that Bud had to return to Kathmandu and nurse a cold but, as you mentioned it was the wise path. Hope to see photos of your high-altitude (no doubt world record) Halloween party and Burke-Khang entry & climbing scenes, later. BTW, hope you read my previous post (Sorrow, Joy), which had a long lag time appearing on your blog (apologies, it may have been too lengthy!). Again, our warm thoughts are with Kathy… and you & your team… warm wishes… Kevin

   Bill, thanks for the audio report. Looking forward to pics of the Halloween costumes. I had a preview of Kathy’s, but I can’t even begin to imagine what Captain Challenge looked like on Halloween, considering how he looks on an ordinary day!

Sadness and gladness repeat–the sadness of Bud’s illness, and the gladness surrounding Halloween celebrations.
