Gokyo
November 2, 2016
Namaste Family & Friends:
This morning, for exercise and acclimatization, David and I scaled Gokyo Ri Peak.
The elevation gain was over 2,000,feet and the mountain is very vertical, with no level sections. I thought it was a rigorous workout. So much for a “rest day.”
The summit of Gokyo Ri Peak is 17,522 feet, which is the same elevation as Everest Base Camp and Burke-Khang Base Camp. We enjoyed some pretty stunning views during the climb, as you will see in the photos.
Tomorrow, we leave for Gokyo Lake #5.

Beautiful photos – always love to watch your climbs!
Yes, Bill, so much for a rest day, but we sure enjoy the views. Blessings.

Thanks for the great updates and photos Bill…prayers going your way for a safe journey!
Beautiful!!! Enjoy!
You’re handling the altitude well, and those acclimatization climbs can be difficult. Great pics!
By the way, the Cubs won the World Series over the Indians in seven games, in case you’re interested.
