Namaste Family & Friends:
My good friend, Alan Arnette, has just posted an article about my climb on his website. He asked some pretty searching questions about why I am here. The link is below, and I hope you will read it.
If you are interested in “all things Everest,” as the season is just about to begin, please subscribe to Alan’s excellent website. In my opinion, he is the best at what he does. You can register your e-mail on his website and get alerts when he posts reports.

I believe it to be a Japanese saying:
“Reach for the stars, but keep your feet on the ground.”
Bill Burke and Alan Arnette have done both.

Hi Bill,
Lovely report by Alan and so thought provoking, I hope the trek in is going well.
Take care and enjoy the peace and solitude.

Glad you are making real progress for this climb. I’m predicting success this time. Go for it Bill … make haste slowly!
All the best, Bud Miller
Bill, thanks for keeping us updated on your progress. It sounds like this Trek has been perfect so far. Enjoy the high Country of Goyko. My thoughts and daily prayers are for a successful safe summit. Thanks for your friendship last year in NB.
Very much enjoyed the article by Alan, particularly your responses to his questions.
Good wishes as you continue on your adventure, Bill.

I am having my sixth graders read Alan’s article today in class, and then write about what stands out to them and why. It was a terrific article! What an inspiration you are, Bill.
