Namaste Family & Friends:
Today we enjoyed a delightfully pleasant rest day in Namche Bazaar.
I have some really fond memories of my many visits to Namche Bazaar, going all the way back to 2007. At the top of this list is the trip last year with the Burke-Khang 2015 Expedition Team. We stayed at the Paradise Lodge up the hill and had a great time before continuing our move up to the mountain. We had a large, diverse team consisting of 7 climbers, 4 trekkers and 2 guides. We bonded immediately and had the best time ever. Old friendships were renewed and new friendships were created. We continue to stay in touch. Happy Birthday Rebecca. I remember how we celebrated your birthday in the Himalaya last year. Greetings to the rest of the team, wherever you are now.
Tomorrow, we move to Dole. This day will be comparable to our move from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, as we will gain 2,500 feet of altitude.
Alas, at some point soon, it will become harder to send photos. So, I hope you enjoy the photos I am sharing with you from the lower mountain villages.
Bill…wonderful memories and hopefully you can get over to the Tenzing statue again for a great photo up the valley towards Everest before you make your left hand turn to Gokyo!
So you head up the valley before left to Gokyo. I was curious about that; now I know. Great Everest views.
I’m having Nepal dreams these days thanks to you and the horse. Unfinished business.
Great photos. Trip’s going smoothly, very good time you made up to Namche. I’m optimistic.
Hi Mr. Burke, I love your pictures! I want to thank you for another wonderful weekend in the desert! Lisa, Denise, and I had so much fun, and the weather was beautiful. I hope you have a very safe and fabulous adventure on the mountain. Good Luck with everything!
Love this village photos!
We are all overjoyed with the village pictures–good memories. Stay healthy as you move toward Gokyo–easier to do in the mountains. Enjoy the moment. Blessings.
