This is Bill’s daughter Lisa updating for our dad, who currently does not have good cell service. We learned yesterday that the good samaratan, Jim Kurz, who loaned our dad his car for 2 days, has sadly drowned shortly after their meeting. After hearing a concerning report and worrying about Jim, Bill had confirmation of his passing from Jim’s son, who replied to his recent blog post. We are all very sad about this news and ask for prayers for Jim’s family.
Oh my gosh, I’m saddened to read that latest update about the kind Samaritan. Anything we can do for his family?
Oh my word, so shocking and tragic. Bill please take extra care.
Devastating news. Such a kind and generous man. So very sorry for his family and for Bill, losing a wonderful, new found friend. Yes, will keep him in our prayers.
“River Angel Jim” – we are forever grateful for Jim. ❤️
Such dreadful news. Prayers for “River Angel Jim” and Bill’s continued safety.
Oh my gosh. Shocking news. Sending prayers to his family 🙏🏻
What somber, mournful misfortune. Thoughts are with his grieving family and with you, Bill, as you continue down river, with Jim’s memory.
I can only think that if there is a good thought it might be that this wonderful man was the true ”
good Samaritan” the way Jesus describes him and my hope is to finish as well. Take care Bill
So sorry to hear. What a sweet man loaning a car to a complete stranger
Jim reminds me of helping Pacific Crest Trail hikers in the Mammoth area one summer. They call helpers, trail angels. So sad to hear the loss of a kind gentleman that helped a stranger with transportation. This reminds me of stories in the Bible.
Heartbreaking news – prayers for his family and safety for Bill’s continuing journey. Let us know if possible to support this family –
A fortuitous meet up with a Good Samaritan/river Angel ends on a sad note.
Blessings,
Rick
I am sorry that happened to you. Hope the family can cope.
I’m so sorry to here this. Prayers go out to all of his friends and family.
